Marketing Your Business on the Internet

Marketing Your Business on the Internet:

How a company that is already succeeded in achieving their local market to expand their marketing reach online? The good news is that the traditional offline marketing that has always worked so well will still work at least as effective in promoting your online presence. The other side of the coin is that to promote your business online, the old traditions need some updates to track online marketing best practices.

Every business should already have a marketing plan and the objectives of their online initiatives, we'll move directly into the technological aspects of online marketing. In general, I look at the following things first, because they can be very low cost or no initial cost, and because subsequent marketing specialist will not be as successful without these things in place. Of course, there is a huge amount more to online marketing, the extent of which could easily be justified as a full-time university course. It is of note pre-school, to help get your site to start on a small budget if you can not really afford to be use heavy artillery to promote your site professionally for you just yet.

1. Site Optimization

This is always the starting point, because the effectiveness of what follows is often dependent on this front. When I say this I include great content and intuitive navigation as the basis of everything. Only once your site has been optimized for intelligent visitors should you tweak the search engines, but never at the expense of the former.

Search engines look at things like keyword density and how a specific page corresponding to a specific search term. Of course this is extremely simplistic to most, but still an interesting point of departure. Identifying 10-20 key terms you want search engines to return, and creating specialized pages with relevant information using these terms in the right way, you will start to get better results once your site was indexed.

You will see that it is better to use special phrases, such as "precision bolts" is likely to get better placement than a generic term like "engineering parts". You should also work to create a unique page for each keyword phrase you want picked up on, and include the key phrase in the title, meta tags and use all the words in the body of the page to a high density compared to other words. You should also preferably include keywords in the title page and the URL of the page, for example, "http://www.mysite.com/precision_engineered_bolts/". Each page should use a different title, specifically based on the keywords used in the content of this page.

Your site should really be developed using XHTML and CSS these days, table-based design has many technical problems associated with it, and the result is a sparse keyword that current standards.

Ideally, you should use a content management system that integrates and facilitates all the above quickly and effortlessly, like that comes standard with RealmSurfer sites. This will allow you to manage the optimization of your own content, with a little trial and error.

2. Linking and indexing

The next step is to get search engines to start to notice and index your site. Google, for example, will not even look at your site until it has been linked to at least one other indexed site. The paid inclusion (paying the search engines to index your site on a schedule of priority) may be appropriate at this stage if you need an emergency to expedite this process, but it is not always necessary.

Particularly useful at this stage can be participating in forums dedicated to your primary target market. This has the double benefit of raising awareness of your business in the communities you want to achieve, and at the same time can help to create inbound links to your site, something that search engines pay particular attention to the . Make sure your contact information on the site are included as a link in the footer of your messages.
Never use a forum for members to submit spam or junk mail - which has the opposite effect of destroying the credibility of your business. Some forums have a separate section of the advertisement in which it may be appropriate in a professional post information about your services and products. Always make sure that your presence is a valuable contribution to the community. Stay on topic and be professional, helpful and constructive.

Search engines take many factors into consideration when ranking a site. New sites, for example, does not initially fare well, however you will find they will allocate a certain weight you more credibility to your site is operational. The most important factor, however, external to the site itself, is the number of inbound (preferably non-reciprocal) links to other sites, and the context and wording of the referring link and the page rank reference and the reference site. The popularity of these sites plays an important role, and how strong its own hierarchy of site that the link is. For example, a link from www.news.com.au count for much more than a link from a page deep rooted, as www.somesitesomewhere.com / directory / TheAttic / someoldforgottenpage.

3. Implement online marketing partnerships with high-profile online businesses

This is where you can really benefit if implemented successfully. When I was first running of the business unit e-commerce for a large company, rather than paying high-traffic websites to advertise on their sites, which can be very non-target us their have proposed a percentage of sales. In other words, we have provided banners to promote the service, monitoring and implementation simple, where our visitors come and then receives a percentage of total revenue for the sponsor. This resulted in marketing costs low for us, and referring sites started placing more emphasis on the side to make sure we got a first position each time they were low on the Inventory paid.

Another effect of medium-term strategy is to provide valuable content for sites that serve your target market. They benefit from your topical content, you get exposure and links.

4. Dip in advertising paid keywords

Only at that point you really should start paying for online advertising. These forms of advertising, however, allow you to specifically target certain people, which means you get a much better return on investment than simply advertising to everyone. It may take some trial and error to find what works best, but the amount you pay should be less than the amount of business you generate, and should normally include full measurement and reports on a fairly regular basis, preferably Online.

To that end, I often suggest using Google. They are by far the search engine most popular in the world, they have a very good reputation, provide reports online, and are probably more likely to produce results initially. Yahoo and MSN also have excellent systems of paid links, and they keep getting better all the time. The latest offers from all three are now also beginning to allow specific targeting of demographics, a trend that is likely to become the preferred target audiences online once the capabilities of this type of targeting matures.

5. Involve an Internet marketing specialist

At this point, you should start to see results and be in good position to ask some intelligent questions. Preferably, deal only with cases that has a good reputation (ask for customer details so you can know how effective they are), and preferably has been around for at least a few years. They should also provide very detailed reports (ask for examples of these face-up) and be able to explain in detail how they go about promoting your site, what sites they do, the number of views and of clicks per site per day, and how each promotion was relative to the next. They should also meet you at least once a month to review the successes and failures and get involved in the decision process of where next to promote your business. At least monthly, you should be able to evaluate your cost per sale for various promotions, and change your focus accordingly.

Especially beware of companies that claim unrealistic results fast, or base their business mainly on the presentation of search engines, or using deceptive practices to try to engines "trick" search in your senior. This is usually, at best, produce no value, and can sometimes lead to your site to be removed or ranked very low by the search engines.
